Church Saint Mamas

This small chapel is tucked away inside an old quarry stone building on the corner of Timiou Stavrou Street, opposite the "Tasties" restaurant. Saint Mamas, who was born in Paphlagonia in 260 AD to Christian parents, served as the namesake. These then died in prison as martyrs of Christianity. Saint Mamas did not die a natural death either. As a result of torture, he died a martyr's death at the age of only 15.
